Without the selfless efforts of Georgia’s foster parents, children and youth in the custody of DFCS would not have the stability and safety necessary to continue growing physically and emotionally. DFCS relies on its partnership with Foster Parents to keep children safe and work toward a reunification plan that is in the best interest of the families served.
Unfortunately disagreements occur at times between foster parents, DFCS and/or the children and their parents. If this occurs, the first resolution should always be to contact the local county department to try and resolve any issues; however, if issues remain or continue to be unsatisfactory, the Foster Parent Grievance Process should be used to reach a resolution. Please see the attached document for Foster Parent Advocacy information and the Grievance Process.
