‘One Church One Child’ to sponsor foster adoption fair

ATLANTA (GA) – On August 12th, One Church One Child of Georgia will sponsor a Foster Care and Adoption Resource Fair. This resource fair will provide information to prospective foster and adoptive parents on the needs of children in state custody.

“Becoming a foster parent can be a challenging as well as rewarding experience and One Church One Child is helping us find those citizens who are interested in opening their doors and their hearts to a deserving child in foster care,” said DFCS Director Mary Dean Harvey.

One Church One Child of Georgia, a private, non-profit organization, is working in cooperation with the Georgia Department of Human Resources, to find and recruit loving, nurturing families for children in Georgia’s foster care system.

Today, more than 15,000 children in state custody in need of a home. Of these children, over 2700 are free for adoption. The Foster Care and Adoption Resource Fair will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2006, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at TurnerChapelAMEChurch.
