Update on SNAP, TANF, and Medical Assistance Renewals

SNAP and TANF March - August renewals have been extended for six months. MA and Peachcare renewals for March - October have been extended for six months.

July Pandemic SNAP (P-SNAP)

This additional benefit for customers already receiving SNAP (food stamps) would grant the maximum allotment of food stamps to each household not already receiving it. P-SNAP benefits for July will issued according to the schedule below. Customers can find their client ID on the front of their EBT card.

00 - 19 Wednesday, July 29
20 - 49 Thursday, July 30
50 - 69 Friday, July 31
70 - 99 Saturday, August 1

Georgia’s CPS Centralized Intake Communication Center takes reports 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. If you have an immediate emergency, please call 911 or your local police department.

Child Abuse Registry

Anyone can request a free Self-Check by going to any Georgia Division of Family & Children Services office (https://dfcs.georgia.gov/locations) they will be required to present government issued identification: State ID, Military ID, Driver’s License or Passport. Results will be emailed to the requester within 10 business days. This is the only way under GA law to request a self-check.

Out of State CPS Inquiries

A Child Protective Service (CPS) Screening Request may be submitted by the following:

  1. Private or International Adoption Agency:
    If an adoption petition has been filed with superior court:   Submit the purpose of request on agency letterhead, and a copy of the court order which states there is a pending adoption

  2. Law Enforcement or CPS Investigators:
    Submit the purpose of request on agency letterhead, along with a signed release of information for each individual to be screened
