ATLANTA – The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) will be hosting Operation Home 5K run/walk for foster care awareness on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. The race will be held at Stone Mountain Park, located at 1000 Robert E. Lee Boulevard in Stone Mountain, GA.

Operation Home 5K run/walk is a fun, family-friendly event which supports the Division’s mission of strengthening families for a stronger Georgia. With more than 13,000 children in foster care, the race is an opportunity to raise awareness about the critical need for foster caregivers in Georgia.  

Running enthusiasts and supporters of all ages are invited to hit the pavement in support of foster care awareness. The cost of registration before June 21, 2017 is $30. Race day registration is $40. For children age 12 and under, the cost of registration is $10. All proceeds will directly benefit the Division’s annual Secret Santa fundraiser, which provides Christmas gifts to more than 8,000 foster children in Georgia. The event is hosted in partnership with Clark Howard of The Clark Howard Show on WSB radio.
