Decatur, GA – DeKalb County Department of Family & Children Services (DFCS) staff are preparing to relocate in early 2020.

The Division announced that doors will open at a new location on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. The lobby at the current location, 178 Sams Street, Decatur, 30030, will close its doors on Friday, Jan. 31 and will reopen the following Monday at 8 a.m. in a new location at 2300 Parklake Dr., Atlanta, 30345.

The new office building will be 113,000 square feet, will house over 500 DFCS staff and is expected to serve more than 100,000 families in DeKalb County.

DFCS, which currently provides economic assistance and child welfare services to DeKalb County residents will move staff to the new location throughout the winter.

The original DFCS office located at 178 Sams Street, Decatur, 30030, will then close permanently and DeKalb County residents will be able to apply in person for all services in the new location at 2300 Parklake Dr., Atlanta 30345 beginning on Feb. 3. The new office will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to walk-in customers.
