Supervisor Learning Circles
Overview

Learning Circles are best described as a process of peer-to-peer learning used to spark innovation, reinforce the use of critical thinking in supervision, and improve case work and supervisory practice. Learning Circles-a form of community practice-allow supervisors an opportunity to explore work challenges, create and implement innovative ways to meet these challenges and to engage in self reflection of their own practice.
DFCS Education and Training (ETS) has partnered with the DFCS Professional Excellence Program at Georgia State University (GSU) to develop a model that would meet the needs of Georgia DFCS supervisors. The Butler Institute for Families at the University of Denver is providing consultation and technical support for the Georgia DFCS Learning Circles. Butler Institute has been an integral part of developing Learning Circle models for a variety of states.
