General Inquiries

General inquiries regarding the requirements for placements into Georgia and out of Georgia for children who come under the purview of the ICPC may be directed to the Deputy Compact Administrator or ICPC Specialist, using [email protected] (subject line reference to be formatted as noted below) or by mail or telephone. 

Specific Inquiries

Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children referrals and other case management documents including case-specific inquiries from and to the state of Georgia will be directed to the Georgia Department of Human Services ICPC State Office to the attention of the assigned ICPC Specialist utilizing the [email protected] (subject line reference to be formatted as indicated below).  Responses to case-specific inquiries are confidential.  The release and access to case-specific information are subject to compliance to applicable federal and state laws, DHS Policy and DFCS policy. The release of Georgia DHS ICPC office responses to case-specific activities or inquiries will be limited to identified or assigned agents in Georgia and/or identified ICPC Compact Administrators/Deputy Compact Administrators or Alternates in another party state.

Parties using the electronic mailing address are not required to follow up with paper copy unless specifically requested by Georgia ICPC State Office. The Subject Line must include the name of the designated assigned ICPC Alternate noted above and as a courtesy, identification of the information in the email such as “new referral", or "progress report", or "100B", or "closure", or "question”. Do NOT include the name of a child in the subject line.

An exception to the use of electronic mailing address: Two copies of all public agency, private agency, independent, or private ICPC adoption referrals, one original with signed documents plus a duplicate copy, must be submitted by mail to the Georgia DHS ICPC State Office. Electronic scan/e-mail will be acceptable for additional documents which may be required to be submitted after the original referral.
