Periodic Reporting

Periodic Reporting will be phased out starting in March 2026 for most Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) households. Once a SNAP household completes its recertification (renewal) on or after March 2, 2026, periodic reports will no longer be required

Active SNAP households that have not yet completed their recertification (renewal) will continue to complete periodic reports as required until their next renewal. DHS/DFCS will send a reminder notification to SNAP households the month before a periodic report is due, with the deadline to complete the periodic review if it is still required.

Ongoing, periodic reporting will only occur for Senior SNAP cases that report a change during the certification period that causes the household to transition to regular SNAP. Upon the transition to regular SNAP, the household must complete periodic reports until the next recertification. DHS/DFCS will send a reminder notification the month before a periodic report is due with the deadline. At the next recertification, a new certification period will be assigned, and periodic reports will no longer be required.

Households with a six month certification period will not be required to do an interview at the first renewal, as they may now complete an alternate renewal at every other recertification. No interview is required for an alternate renewal, but all points of eligibility must be reviewed, and customers must submit a renewal form and any required verification (i.e., income, shelter, etc.). Households will still be required to complete a standard interview once every 12 months, which may be conducted by telephone or face-to-face.

If a SNAP household is still required to complete a periodic report, they can fill out and submit the form online at gateway.ga.gov, or via the paper form below.

If a SNAP household chooses to use the paper form, they will be responsible for submitting it to their local DFCS office by mail or in person.

SNAP households that are still required to complete a periodic report and do not submit one, and/or who fail to submit required verification documents by the designated deadline, will have their case closed and will be required to reapply for benefits.
