Georgia C.R.E.W. (Cultivating the Rising Experienced Worker)

Program Overview

Georgia Cultivating the Rising Experienced Worker (C.R.E.W.) Program serves as the employability training and career exploration connection for youth in foster care within the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS). It provides a youth-friendly experience where participants can engage in a series of employment preparation services such as workshops, trainings, resource connections, hands on work experience and more.

Vision

Our vision is for all youth in foster care to acquire employment training and develop life skills that will increase their likelihood of success in careers, self-sufficiency, and adulthood.

Mission

Our mission is to serve as the youth employment hub within DFCS. The program provides a service array designed to facilitate self‐sufficiency and employability skill development in youth ages 14-18 within DFCS custody.

Program Goals

• To support self-sufficiency of Georgia’s Opportunity Youth through the development of employability skills
• To provide employability training & hands on work experience for DFCS youth between the ages of 15 and 18 years old
• To provide employment resource connections for Georgia’s opportunity youth
