The Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and Fox 5 Atlanta partner to sponsor Wednesday’s Child, an award-winning program and a national campaign with a proven track record of success aimed at increasing the number of adoptions of children in foster care. Featured children are usually past the age of eight (8), sibling groups and/or children with special needs who have been in the foster care system for some time and would love to be adopted into a forever family.

Wednesday's Child (WC) is Georgia's partnership with WAGA Fox 5 TV - Atlanta and the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services Permanency Unit. An award-winning program with a proven track record of success, is a national campaign to increase the number of adoptions of children in foster care. The children featured on Wednesday’s Child are those in the most urgent need of a home. Many of these children are over the age of eight and have been in the foster care system for some time and desperately need a permanent place to call home.
Weekly Feature: Claudia and Blaine
Future doctor or occupational therapist Claudia, born in 2010, is a caring, mature, and sweet Caucasian teen who enjoys writing song lyrics, doing gymnastics, cleaning, and playing ‘Monopoly’, ‘UNO’, volleyball, and tag. She would like to learn how to play softball. Claudia also enjoys listening to R&B and rap music and watching ‘Young Sheldon’, horror movies, comedies, and basketball and football games. The 49ers are her favorite team. At school, where she is well-behaved, earns good grades, and gets along well with the other kids, Claudia enjoys working on the school yearbook and learning new things. ELA, PE, and cooking are her favorite subjects. Blaine, born in 2015, is a funny and sweet boy who enjoys watching Sponge Bob and scary movies. He enjoys school and his favorite part of the day is recess. He enjoys being outdoors and going fishing. He enjoys playing video games. He also enjoys listening to rap music and playing board games. They need a loving adoptive family who will give the attention, support, encouragement, structure, and nurturing environment they need to continue to thrive and reach their goals.
